REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
PASSPORT:
A passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity from the date of entry into the country is required. An identity card is not valid for entry into Morocco.
ENTRY VISA:
Visa-free entry is permitted for tourist stays of up to 3 (three) months. For work, study, or other purposes, the appropriate visa must be obtained from a Moroccan diplomatic or consular office in Italy.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION
Border authorities may require travelers to present a return or onward ticket, as well as confirmation of their accommodation for the duration of their stay.

In the City
• Petit Taxi: the most commonly used way to get around cities. Affordable and easy to find.
• Buses: available in major cities, but often crowded and less intuitive for tourists.
• Trams: modern and efficient in Rabat and Casablanca.
• On Foot: ideal for exploring medinas and historic city centers.
Between Cities
• ONCF Trains: comfortable, reliable, and affordable. They connect the country’s main cities.
• Al Boraq (High-Speed Train): connects Tangier, Kenitra, Rabat, and Casablanca.
• Long-Distance Buses: an affordable option for reaching cities not served by the railway network.
• Domestic Flights: useful for covering long distances, especially when traveling to southern regions of the country.
Other Options
• Rental Cars: recommended for exploring areas such as the desert, the Atlas Mountains, and the Atlantic coast.
• Private Transfers: widely available for excursions and customized itineraries.

5-DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1
Marrakech is a city famous for its colorful souks and the lively markets of the Medina. The Bahia Palace and the Koutoubia Mosque are among its most iconic landmarks, representing the rich history and architecture of the city. Marrakech is a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity, with lush gardens such as the Majorelle Garden, elegant restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife scene.
The city offers a unique sensory experience, where captivating scents, vibrant colors, and the sounds of everyday life come together to create an unforgettable atmosphere. With its charm and authenticity, Marrakech is one of Morocco's most fascinating destinations.
MARRAKECH
MEDINA SOUK
The Medina Souk is the beating heart of Marrakech's historic city center. It is a maze of narrow streets filled with vibrant colors, captivating scents, and lively sounds.
Here, visitors can discover spices, textiles, ceramics, and traditional local handicrafts. Merchants display their goods in small, bustling shops, creating a unique and authentic atmosphere.
Bargaining is an essential part of the experience and is often considered a friendly and enjoyable tradition. Every corner tells a story of ancient customs and everyday life.
Exploring the souk means truly immersing yourself in the local culture and experiencing the authentic spirit of Marrakech.
JEMAA EL-FNA
Jemaa el-Fna is the beating heart of Marrakech, a place where the city comes alive through colors, aromas, and sounds. During the day, the square is filled with vendors selling spices, fresh fruit, and traditional handicrafts, while at sunset it transforms into a vibrant spectacle of lights, music, and entertainment.
Street performers, snake charmers, and storytellers bring every corner of the square to life, creating a truly unique atmosphere. Food stalls offer traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine and local sweets, while the lively crowd blends locals and curious travelers from around the world.
Visiting Jemaa el-Fna means experiencing the authentic soul of Marrakech and discovering one of Morocco's most fascinating cultural landmarks.
AGAFAY DESERT
The Agafay Desert experience is one of the activities I recommend the most near Marrakech, especially if you are looking to enjoy something different from the classic city tour. Although it is not a sandy desert like the Sahara, its rocky landscapes and unique atmosphere still create a truly unforgettable experience.
Most tours include activities such as quad biking, camel rides at sunset, a traditional Moroccan dinner, and live local music performances under the stars. It is this perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and authentic atmosphere that makes the experience so special.
I especially recommend visiting at sunset, when the landscape changes color completely and the surroundings become even more magical and atmospheric..
DAY 2
JARDIN MAJORELLE
The Majorelle Garden is one of the most enchanting places in Marrakech. It was created in the 1920s by French painter Jacques Majorelle as an artistic retreat and has since become one of the city's most iconic attractions.
The famous Majorelle blue, which covers walls, fountains, and pavilions, creates striking contrasts with the lush vegetation surrounding the garden. Visitors can admire a wide variety of plants from around the world, including cacti, palm trees, bamboo, and many exotic species.
Inside the garden, you can also find the Berber Museum and spaces dedicated to Moroccan culture. In the 1980s, the garden was restored and preserved thanks to Yves Saint Laurent.
Today, the Majorelle Garden is a peaceful oasis, offering the perfect escape from the lively atmosphere of the Medina.

BEN YOUSSEF MADRASA
The Ben Youssef Madrasa is located in the heart of Marrakech, Morocco, near the famous mosque of the same name. It was once one of the largest and most important Islamic schools in North Africa.
Originally built in the 14th century and later expanded in the 16th century under the Saadian dynasty, the madrasa was home to hundreds of students who studied the Quran and religious sciences.
The building is renowned for its stunning decorations, including colorful zellige mosaics, carved wood, and intricately sculpted stucco featuring geometric patterns and calligraphic designs. At its center lies a large courtyard with a reflecting pool, creating an atmosphere of peace and serenity.

Last entry: Usually 30–45 minutes before closing time.

THE KOUTOUBIA MOSQUE
The Koutoubia Mosque was built in the 12th century during the rule of the Almohad dynasty. Its minaret, standing approximately 77 meters tall, is the most famous in the city and can be seen from far away, making it a true symbol of Marrakech.
The name “Koutoubia” comes from the booksellers who once worked in the area surrounding the mosque. Today, the mosque remains an important place of worship for Muslims.
The interior is not accessible to non-Muslim visitors, but the exterior is widely admired for its simple and elegant architecture. Surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and located near Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque is one of Marrakech’s most iconic landmarks.

Prayer hall: Access is reserved for Muslims during the five daily prayer times.

JARDIN SECRET
Le Jardin Secret is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Marrakech’s Medina. Hidden behind discreet walls, it opens onto a beautifully maintained garden with fountains, lush plants, and carefully designed spaces. The contrast with the lively streets surrounding it is immediate and incredibly relaxing.
The garden combines traditional Moroccan architecture with elegant design, creating a harmonious and enchanting atmosphere. It is the perfect place to stop, rest, and cool down while exploring the city.
Walking along its pathways, visitors can admire the attention to detail and discover the history behind this unique place. Le Jardin Secret is an ideal destination for anyone looking for a quiet escape in the center of Marrakech.
DAY 3
OUZOUD WATERFALLS
The Ouzoud Waterfalls are one of the most beautiful destinations to visit near Marrakech. With a height of over 100 meters, they offer spectacular views and a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature. During the visit, travelers can walk along scenic trails, admire the waterfalls from different viewpoints, and enjoy the lush green landscapes that surround the area.
It is the perfect day trip for those looking to escape the lively rhythm of the city and discover one of Morocco’s most famous natural wonders.
DAY 4
ESSAOUIRA
Essaouira offers a much calmer, more relaxed, and authentic atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for a different kind of day trip. Tours usually include a visit to the Medina, the harbor with its famous blue boats, the ocean-facing city walls, and the local markets. Many excursions also include stops along the way, such as argan oil cooperatives and beautiful panoramic viewpoints.
One of the things I enjoyed most about Essaouira is its unique atmosphere. Walking through the white-and-blue streets, enjoying fresh seafood by the sea, and taking in the ocean views creates a wonderfully relaxing experience compared to the faster pace of Marrakech.
If you are planning your trip, Essaouira is, in my opinion, one of the best excursions to discover a different and more authentic side of Morocco.
DAY 5
AIT BEN HADDOUI AND ATLAS MONTAIN
I would definitely recommend visiting Aït Ben Haddou, as it is one of the most complete and spectacular day trips you can take from Marrakech. The charm of the ancient fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou, with its red-earth buildings and timeless atmosphere, makes this visit truly unique.
The tour also takes you through the spectacular Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking views along the way, as well as the opportunity to visit the film studios in Ouarzazate, where famous productions such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy were filmed.
It is an experience that brings together history, culture, nature, and cinema, allowing you to discover some of Morocco’s most iconic places in a single day.
