ABOUT ME

My name is Giammarco, and I’m just a local optician who, in his free time, loves doing what he enjoys most: travelling.

After working in different cities across Italy, moving to Milan became a new starting point for me, helping me find the right balance between my work and my constant desire to explore the world.

After visiting more than 30 countries, including 17 on my own, I decided to create this website to share my experiences, offer travel tips, and help other people discover the world in a simpler and more mindful way.

My goal is simple: to turn this passion into something bigger, bringing together my work and my love for travel.

Why this travel website?

What is the goal?

Because travelling is not just about leaving,
it’s about what stays with you when you come back.

This website was created to share what lies behind every journey: the unexpected moments, the emotions, and the experiences that never make it into photos.

If even just one person, while reading, feels inspired to leave or to see the world from a different perspective, then it will have been worth it.

To create a community of people who see travel in the same way.

Not only to share tips and information, but also to exchange experiences, share stories, and discover new perspectives.

Because travelling is even more beautiful when it is shared.

Why did I choose the name Odyssey?

Because for me, travelling has never been just about a departure or a destination. It’s everything that happens in between.

It’s the unexpected moment you never planned for.
The detour you never imagined taking.
The experience that makes you stop and see things from a different perspective.

Odyssey was born from this way of experiencing travel.
Not as something perfect, but as a real journey, made of highs and lows, mistakes, choices, and changes.

An odyssey is never a straight path.
And maybe that is exactly what makes it valuable.

Because in the end, you never come back exactly as you left.
Something always changes: the way you see the world, the way you experience time, and the way you appreciate the things around you.

This name represents everything I look for in my travels.
Not just discovering new places, but truly experiencing them.
And above all, coming back with something more.
