I have often wondered why it was called the Land of Smiles.

You were the light in my eyes in front of the Big Buddha in Chiang Rai.
You were my quiet happiness as the sun set over Wat Arun and the sky slowly turned orange.
You were the carefree joy of playing with Chenwi, as he imitated his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, laughing… without knowing that he was creating one of the most important memories of my life.
The kindness of your people, that smile that welcomes everyone without asking who you are or where you come from, is something unforgettable.
It stays in the mind and, above all, in the heart.
Now I know why they call you the Land of Smiles: it is not just an expression on the face, but a way of life.
And today I can say it with certainty:
