“COULD I LIVE HERE?”"
Everyone, sooner or later, looks for a place of their own.
Not just a beautiful city to visit, but somewhere that, in some way, feels right for us.
While traveling, I’ve asked myself the same question many times:
“Could I live here?”
Most of the time, the answer has been no.
There are cities I’ve enjoyed, others that surprised me, and others that left me with beautiful memories. But only a few have made me answer yes.
Valencia is one of them.
Of course, when you travel, you see everything through a tourist’s eyes. You don’t truly live in a city, and a few days are never enough to really get to know it.
And yet, some places still manage to leave something behind.
I’ve been back to Valencia three times, and every time, I’ve had the same feeling.
Maybe it’s the relaxed atmosphere you find in every neighborhood, the Oceanogràfic, the walks along Malvarrosa Beach, or the Turia Gardens running through the city.
Maybe it’s the perfect balance between the sea and urban life.
Whatever it is, Valencia has left something more in me than most other cities.
The people played a part too: friendly, helpful, and welcoming without ever being intrusive.
It’s one of those cities where you feel comfortable almost immediately.
Valencia has a pace that I love.
It’s alive, without being hectic.
There’s always something to do, but it also knows how to make you slow down.
In the end, I think that’s what it’s really about:
Everyone has a city that feels a little bit like them.
For me, that city is Valencia.
